What we use them for
Through Family First Life, we have access to Foresters Financial’s life-insurance product lines. From an agent’s perspective, they tend to be a strong fit when:
- The buyer values community and member benefits. Foresters is a fraternal benefit society, which means policyholders are members — not just customers. Members get access to programs like community grants, children’s scholarships, and discounts that don’t exist at stock or mutual carriers. For buyers who like the “more than a policy” pitch, that’s the differentiator.
- The case is term or whole life with no medical exam. Foresters is widely written for simplified-issue cases under FFL, with several products that skip the full paramedical exam.
- The buyer wants a long operating history. 150+ years is a real signal of staying power.
A note on financial strength
Foresters Financial’s most recently confirmed AM Best rating from their own site is A (Excellent), assigned July 29, 2021. Ratings are reviewed periodically — pull current values from AM Best’s rating directory before quoting them on a call.
When to consider another carrier
If the priority is maximum cash-value growth via IUL, carriers focused heavily on the IUL category often illustrate stronger numbers. If the priority is broadest product breadth across categories (life, annuity, retirement plans), Transamerica covers more ground. The fraternal model is a feature for some buyers and a non-factor for others — we surface it when it’s relevant.
